About this product

A black caged pendant on an adjustable cord, open at the bottom.

The cage guards the bulb without hiding it, and the open base means changing a bulb takes seconds.

A black metal caged pendant with an open-air design that protects the bulb and still lets the light out.

The cord is adjustable, so you set the drop rather than living with it.

The base is open, which means bulb changes happen from underneath with no dismantling.

It weighs 1.76kg, which is light enough to hang two or three in a row over a bench.

A cage around a bulb does two jobs. It stops the bulb being knocked, and it throws a pattern of shadow on the ceiling that a plain shade cannot. This one is open enough that the bulb still does the lighting.

The cord is adjustable. Over a kitchen bench that matters more than the fitting itself: too high and it lights the ceiling, too low and you cannot see across it.

The bottom is open, so a blown bulb is a thirty-second job from a step ladder rather than a dismantling exercise.

One E26 bulb up to 60W, not included. A filament bulb is the obvious choice here, because the cage is drawn to show it.

At 1.76kg it is light for its size, which is what makes a run of two or three practical over an island.
